Big Mouth has been renewed for Season 8 at Netflix, which will be the animated comedy sitcom’s final season which will debut sometime in 2024.

Additionally, Big Mouth spinoff Human Resources will finish with its previously greenlit second season which will premiere in the coming months.

Netflix points out that the adult-animated comedy sitcom will become the longest-running scripted series in the streamer’s history outside of kids and family programming.

Inspired by the childhoods of Nick Kroll and Andrew Goldberg, Big Mouth follows a group of middle school friends and their hormone monsters as they navigate adolescence. Season 6 premiered in 2022, while Season 7 will premiere in 2023 and 2024.

Big Mouth is a towering achievement in animated comedy that will make Netflix history for its longevity,” said Billy Wee, Netflix’s director of adult animation. “We are thrilled that we still have two more hilarious seasons to share with fans before this brilliant coming of age story reaches its conclusion.”

“If you would have told adolescent Nick Kroll and Andrew Goldberg that middle school would take eight years to finish, they would have been like ‘Yeah, that sounds about right. This seems like it will never end,’” said executive producer Nick Kroll.

Back in July, Netflix renewed its overall content deal with Brutus Pink, the animation production company from Kroll, Goldberg, Levin and Flackett, the creative team behind Big Mouth and Human Resources. As part of the deal, Brutus Pink will continue to write and produce new animated projects for Netflix.

Big Mouth and its spinoff Human Resources have earned more than 1 billion viewing hours, according to Netflix.
